Another ending 2/25/13

You're going to Disney Land without me?!!!  I feel a bit betrayed here. Ha ha!  It's a good thing I love being a missionary so much that I don't feel a bit of jealousy.  Yeah we went to Sis.Rasmussen's the other night and I did a few blog posts for her.  It was pretty easy and she fed us such good food too.  It's as close to home as I can get here.  I really never do want to leave Wylde Green because when I was in Wales and Nottingham I just felt so alone and far away, but I feel much more secure and loved here.  The assistants  are like our body gaurds and will call us in the evenings when we have late appointments so that we don't have to walk home too late. And I don't know if you have heard, but they are opening 58 new missions in the world!  Sis.Rasmussen called us up to let us know the other night and said that AZ is getting 4 of them.  Craziness!!!  It's quite exciting being a missionary right now and seeing all of the ...

Happy Days! 2/18/13

Image
This week was one of the fast moving weeks of my mission. I can't believe it is Monday again.  Transfers are at the end of next week and Sis.Laborero and I are sad that our time together will be cut short.  We're still like best friends and everyday is just a party.  Thursday/Valentines Day/Zone conference was such a good day! I got Mom's valentine package and the conference was really nice and I learned a lot. Sis.Rasmussen had me take pictures of everyone at lunch so that we can put them up on the mission blog on Thursday. I love being around missionaries. There is just this good vibe that comes and I am so happy and want to go work. But then that evening after planning I found a potential in my planner from earlier in the week and we found where he lived on the map.  Turns out that he is just out of our area, so then we were trying to figure out who's area he was in.  I saw the name of one bordering area and just called the elders there to see. ...

More Snow - Boooo! 2/11/13

More snow! Boooo! Ha ha! Rumor has it that this will be the coldest February in the past 27 years.  We're just thrilled.  But it really hasn't been too bad.  I just don't like the snow because then it goes through the holes in my shoes and also the last time it snowed I fell a couple of times and that wasn't fun either. Other than that I love it here.  I am so grateful to be with Sis.Laborero during the bad weather because then it really isn't that bad. I learn so much from her every day and we just have a good time.  I'm working on my posh English accent so that I  will come home sounding all prim and proper. Ha ha!  I definitely don't want to pick up the Birmingham accent.  I can barely understand it on a good day! Two weeks ago we met a guy named Andrew at the bus stop.  We had a nice chat with him - well, Sis.Laborero did since I could only catch every other word.  But it turns out that he took what we said to hear...

Sis. LeFoyer, Sis. LeFire & Sis. LeFerver 2/4/13

Hi ya!    Yep, I'm still loving it here! I wake up every morning excited to be a missionary (:  And to be honest, this is the first time I have felt that way on my mission.  It is a wonderful feeling and I feel that I am more myself.  I am much more confident in myself and in the Spirit guiding me.  I just feel like I am finally being the missionary I want to be.  And I know that a lot of it has come from Sis. Laborero.  She is still just so nice and we have so much fun together.  I feel like I can tell her anything and everything.  We both bring out the best in each other and it makes missionary work sooooo much easier.    The work is coming along.  Jannick is still in France so he hasn't been able to come to church yet.  But we still have Michael and Carol on baptismal dates for March 2nd.  Michael has been coming to church for a while now, but he smokes and drinks and he likes it.  We're not...

The Promised Land! 1/30/13

Image
Woo, I love my life!  Ha ha!  Yeah, I feel like I've been wandering in the wilderness for 40 years and I have now been led to a land full of hope and promise.     Sister Laborero is my dream companion.  I can't say enough good about her.  She is 26, from Surrey near London, and is practically engaged to a nice guy named Tom.  I feel like she is like a sister already.  We have a hard time falling asleep at night because we sit there and talk.  It reminds me of Katelyn and I when we were little and then Marc would bang on the wall and tell us to go to bed.  Ha ha!   But she is seriously the nicest girl.  My 2nd night here after planning she told me to go get in my pjs and she gave me a foot massage while I called in to the district leader.  She loves giving massages, so I feel pretty good (:  She's also an amazing missionary.  Very loving and not timid or afraid to talk to people and be real with them. ...

Ten Months! 1/25/13

Just like that another month has gone, another transfer complete, and now I am in Birmingham!  Yep, I have been transfered to Wylde Green to serve with Sister Laborero who was in the MTC with me.  President decided that our area in Nottingham was too dangerous for sisters so we've been pulled and elders are going back in.  It was a real surpise to me and I had to pack like mad yesterday to catch the train in to Birmingham.  I am SO excited to be serving here though. We share the area/ward with the assistants and President and Sister Rasmussen.  And guess what that means?  Post every day! Ha ha!  We live just down the street from the mission office and we'll attend church right across the way from here.  I think this is a really good area too.  Sis.Laborero said we have a busy week with lots of appointments and things to do.  On Monday night AP Choi called us and we hadn't heard yet was happening and he said Sis.LeFevre you're co...

Snow and Blessings 1/14/13

Hey, so I've been given permission to email now.  President seems to be quite concerned that I get to email you properly.  Last week was quite the week.  Last Monday evening we spent 4 hours that evening at the hosptial where they took more tests on Sis.Brooks.  In the end they gave her some antibiotics and pain meds.  Then our flat was being re-decorated Wednesday to Friday (the walls and ceilings painted and fixed up).  So we stayed with the Notts 4 sisters.  They are really nice and Sis.Brooks gets on well with a Sister Lewis over there.   We did have an appointment with Howard this week, but because of unfortunate circumstances we were only able to talk to him for about 15 minutes.  And he didn't show up to church either.  But don't worry, we'll get him!  The Echendus aren't all that solid, but we are going to try to work with the members that referred us and see if we can get them out to church.  We did ...
