Hey!  So we've spent the day shopping away and now my time is limited. I apologize for my selfishness, but hey, I got some new shirts so I don't look so much like a little orphan.  This past week has been busy. This coming week is going to be even busier.  It is transfers this week and with 31 new missionaries coming in we'll be helping out a lot.  Sheista is doing ok.  Her boys are the best though!  They are funny and very eager to be baptised. Sheista is coming along at a slower pace.  But we found two more investigators that seem pretty good.  Man, I wish I had some more inspiring words for you guys. But we're having a lot of fun here and I learn more each week from the Assistants.  Have a wonderful week!  Love you!

Well, I just don't know what to say after reading about how great Disney land was. Ha ha!  I saw Angela Fisher yesterday and she said that you had posted pictures on facebook and she said you all looked miserable and that it wasn't very fun. Ha ha!  She's a funny one.  But I am really glad that you did have fun and that Michelle had a blast.  It makes me just as happy to know that you guys are all happy.  I think this is something I've learned a lot more on the mission - how to be truly happy for others and have charity.  To be honest one reason I came on a mission was because I realised that I struggle with charity and I felt very selfish.  So in my selfish way I came to serve because I didn't want to be that way anymore. Ha ha!  Now I know I am not perfect, but I've been able to see a greater change in myself these past few weeks.  Serving in Wylde Green and training Sister Hanks has changed my mission. Has changed me.  At the begi...

One Year Older and Wiser Too! 3/25/13

Hello!  Man, life is going good.  Ha ha!  We have so many adventures each week and we have a good teaching pool right now.  Saturday and Sunday we got dumped on with snow so we only had sacrament meeting yesterday and not that many people came.  Luckily Sheista came!  Sheista is doing so well!  Her boys were off to London to see their dad over the weekend.  But on Saturday she had us over for dinner and taught us how to make Dhicken Biryani.  It was SO good.  We're going to try making it for the Elders and practice our cooking skills.  But Sheista believes the BoM to be true, believes Joseph Smith.  Our goal for this week will be to get her and Sunny and Matthew on a date for baptism!  Oh it's going to be so exciting!  I was reading in my journal last night and on the 9th of March Sis.Hanks and I had a special fast for 3 people we were working with.  I was thinking it is ironic because now we h...

The Good Days 3/18/13

Oh it is so fun to hear what you guys are up to.  Man, some days I really miss Michelle and the funny things she does. This week we had some really neat things happen. First we got 5 new investigators!  Woo!  New world record for us.  And we also had 5 investigators at church!  The elders had 4, so 9 in total for us. It really was quite exciting. Sheista came with her 3 boys:Sunny 12, Matthew 11, and Adam 5.  They are the most adorable little guys and were well behaved at church.  The ward loved them and I think Sheista really enjoyed it because she didn't have to worry about them during the first 2 meetings.   During Sunday School, the Bishop pulled Sheista and us into his office and just had a nice little chat with her about his role as Bishop and explained a few things.  He is such a busy man and I think it was so neat that he took a little bit of time to make her feel welcome and special.  We'll be seeing her tomorro...

Hi ya!    (That's what everyone says on the streets when you say hello).  This has been a good week for us. I love being able to work hard and be exactly obedient.  There really is a feeling of success that comes from working dilligently and giving your best efforts.  We only got one new investigator this past week, but we met a lot of good potentials and we have quite a few appointments set up with people we have met.  Our new investigator is named Sheista and she is from Pakistan.   On Saturday we had a lot finding time so we mapped out some less-actives to stop by.  As we were walking down all of these streets we stopped and prayed that we would find a new investigator. I then asked Sister Hanks what her favorite number was and she said 14.  We knocked on random doors that we felt impressed to and met a cool guy from Romania.  Then we finally found a 14 and knocked on it. Sheista opened and let us in.  Apparently sh...

Wylde Greene Round 2 3/4/13

Yeah, I am staying!  And I am training Sister Hanks from Logan Utah.  She's 20 and was attending BYU before coming out.  She such a sweet girl, a little shy, but we'll work on that (: I'm sure that as she gets more into the work that her confidence will grow and she will be a really good missionary. We got together on Saturday and went straight to teach Michael who is on a baptismal date and we taught the Word of Wisdom.  Michael has the desire to be baptised but struggles to believe he can give up his smoking and drinking addictions.  I've yet to work with someone who has to give up so much, but the AP's, zone leaders, and district leader all gave us good advice yesterday. Yesterday was really good as we had 3 investigators at church: Michael, Andrew, and Richard.  Richard was the real miracle as he hasn't been keeping any commitments and we kind of dropped him, but we called Saturday night to invite him to church and he said he would!  ...
