Good Morning!  My Welsh is coming along quite nicely. Ha ha! Maybe I'll learn how to say goodnight this coming week.  But they typically say Ta da or ta ra for goodbye, so I'll save that for the end of my email (:    This week was grand! I really love personal study time because I learn so much. To be honest, I've been having a hard time really loving missionary work, becuase it is exactly work. But I've had some really good learning experiences during my study time and I'm trying to be a better missionary everyday.  I know that the Lord loves this cold place and with His help I can learn to really love it as well (:  So I'm happy and doing great!    Today is a bank holiday (May day) and everything is closed so I only have a few minutes to email from a member's home.  We taught Aled yesterday and yes, he does pray and read the Book of Mormon everyday, but we discovered that he doesn't believe in the Atonement. Ha ha!  It was a...

The Sea! Only in England do the awards for the best restrooms - ha ha! Sister LeFevre, Elder Tonga and Sister Benson Oh boy!  It feels like forever since I last wrote.  But zone conference was AWESOME!  It was just what I needed to boost my spirits and help energize me for the work.  The western half of the mission was there so it was more than just our zone.  President and Sister Odgen gave away jars of Nutella and Skippy Peanut Butter for prizes for the cleanest flat awards. Ha ha!  And guess who won?  That's right, Sister Benson and I. Ha ha!  Nutella is SO big over here.  Everyone eats it all the time and on everything.  I was sent to England for a reason (:  And then you can only get Skippt PB from Costco, so it is highly valued as well.  We each got to pick a jar, so our flat is well stocked now. Ha ha! But President Odgen and his wife are amazing!  Everything that was said in zone conference was j...

This is not Lindsey

Just a note for everyone reading this blog.  Lindsey does not update her blog as she is on her mission.  She has a brave person with almost no blogging skills posting her emails and pictures.   Yep, it's just her mom.  :)  Happy reading!

Hey there! Wow, sounds like a fun week (:  I'm very envious of the sun in that picture. Ha ha!  The sun actually does shine here, but it doesn't warm up the same way.  The temperature is always in the 50's, but if the wind is going it feels like it is 10 degrees.  My skirts are doing somewhat ok.  Because they are so full they catch the breeze easily and can be bothersome.  There are a lot of charity shops in town so if we have time today I might be able to find some thicker skirts for £2 or so.  I just didn't realize that I would be bundling up everyday like I was in Rexburg in the winter.  My shoes are doing great, but I reallly want to find some boots because it makes such a difference when I don't go bare legged.  The moisture really eats through everything, so you have to layer up pretty good. And no one even sees my shirts or cardigans because I always have my rain coat on. Ha ha! Oh man, I am SO excited for Michelle!  I...

4/16/12 The Welsh

Howdy do! I said howdy to a girl at church yesterday and all the kids thought it was just hilarious. Ha ha! But it was SO good to hear from you guys! I seriously think Preparation days are my favorite because I get to hear from you all (: I was hoping to attach pictures, but my camera can't hook up to this computer. I quite often feel like I am in a fairytale here because it is just so beautiful! I love when we drive by the sea. There are only like 2 small beaches in a town called Aberporth and then the rest of the coast line is rock or the green fields extend right up to the waves. It's interesting. These past few days have been pretty good. We spend a lot of time finding in random little villages around. So I have a pretty good taste of what the people are like around here. The little villages are mostly full of elderly people because it's quiet and out of the bustle of bigger towns like Cardigan. These older folks are typically not interested or they go to chapel...

Hey! I have been rushed from the country of England! And I am now in Wales! Ha ha ha! My companion didn't get to write home yesterday since she was driving to and from Birmingham all day so we have a little time now to write at the library. My companion is Sister Benson from Rio Rancho, New Mexico and we are serving in the New Castle, Emlyn area. We live in the town of Cardigan, but our area covers several other towns and a load of little villages in between. I can't see the sea from Cardigan, but it is very near by and we saw it yesterday on our drive. It took about 3.5 hours to get here. It is very hilly here and everyone has sheep! The hillsides are covered with fields bordered by hedges with little white sheep or black spotted cows. It's quite beautiful! All of the signs are in both Welsh and English or they are just Welsh. The librarian lady is speaking in Welsh to someone right now and it's pretty trippy. Yep, I'll be praying for the gift of tongues in...
